Immigration

July 15, 2010

Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant deserves a huge adaboy for bringing attention to the immigration issue here in Mississippi.  Recently he discussed his views on anchor babies and illgal immigrants and the burden they pose on hospitals.  When the @#$*& hit the fan and the personal attacks started against him he held his ground and stated his position based on the facts.

State Rep. Becky Currie, R-Brookhaven, said she plans to introduce a bill similar to Arizona’s law during the next legislative session. We should be calling our representatives every day asking for a tougher law than arizona has.

9 states including Michigan Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Virginia, as well as the Northern Mariana Islands are backing Arizona in their legal defense against the Union.  States have the authority to enforce immigration laws and protect their borders, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox said Wednesday in a legal brief on behalf of nine states supporting Arizona against the Federal Government.
