Gutting the Constitution

December 16, 2011

The constitution may take another fatal blow from our fine congress with the passing of the NDAA. The bill includes the U.S.A as a battlefield and would allow American citizens to be arrested by the military without any charges to include indefinite detention without trial. While the headlines read that this is Obamas NDAA, it is congress who is set to pass it with Obama actually speaking out against it. When it is passed Obama will be the only person who could veto it. If it passes no citizen in the U.S. will have a right to a trail if the government deams you a threat. Retired and sitting U.S. Generasl are speaking out against the bill saying it would be a victory for Bin Ladin. If Obama signes the bill it would effectively declare martial law. In their piece “Guantanamo Forever?” former military leaders urged President Obama to veto the bill that contains a provision that “would authorize the military to indefinitely detain without charge people suspected of involvement with terrorism, including United States citizens apprehended on American soil.” The biggest problem with being a labeled a terrorist is that anyone can be labeled as a terrorist. What american citizens dont understand is that our forefathers were terrorist as declared by King Goerge. Furthermore the second amendement gives U.S. citizens the right to overthrow there government by force whenever they concieve their is tyranny. Wake up people bad change is on the horizon. This law would give added strain on an already stretched military, effectively having them perform police duties which was banned by the post reconstruction act.
